Traffic Camera Court Docket
Your Rights and Choices When You Receive a Ticket
The rights of persons ticketed are set forth in Ohio Revised Code 4511.098. If you receive a Notice of Violation (traffic camera ticket), you have the following options:
Pay the fine.
Upon payment in full the matter is concluded. No points will be added to your license and the violation is not a conviction on your driving record. The fine can be paid in one of three ways:
- Pay online: Visit our online traffic camera ticket payment center.
- Pay by mail: Checks and money orders made payable to the "Lyndhurst Municipal Court" can be mailed to the Court at 5301 Mayfield Road, Lyndhurst, Ohio 44124. Please reference the Citation # from the Notice of Violation on the front of your check or money order.
- Pay by phone: Call 1-877-341-9588. Phone payments can be made 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Visa, Discover, MasterCard, and American Express are accepted. Please be prepared to provide the Call Center with Agency Reference Number 11542, the name of the Court (Lyndhurst Municipal Court), and your camera ticket number, which will be formatted similar to this: 060.0000000061.
File an Affidavit of Defense.
If you have a valid defense, file a notarized Affidavit of Defense (located on the back of the Notice of Violation) within 30 days of the receipt of the Notice of Violation. The Affidavit of Defense must be filed with the Court at 5301 Mayfield Road, Lyndhurst, Ohio 44124. You can file an Affidavit of Defense in person or by mail. A properly filed Affidavit of Defense (i.e., completely filled out and notarized) will result in the dismissal of the violation against you.
Request a Hearing.
You may contest the Notice of Violation by filing a Request for Hearing (located on the back of the Notice of Violation) with the Clerk of Court within 30 days after the date of mailing of the ticket. The Request for Hearing must be filed with the Court at 5301 Mayfield Road, Lyndhurst, Ohio 44124. You can file a Request for Hearing in person or by mail. Failure to request a hearing within this time period constitutes a waiver of the right to contest the violation.
Traffic camera violations are governed by Ohio Revised Code Sections 4511.092 through 4511.099.
